Phillies – Rays Game 1 Recap

This ended up being much closer than anyone anticipated, Ranger Suarez had the best start of his career only allowing 1 run in 7 innings to one of, if not, the best lineup in baseball. All Phillies fans can look back on this as a pretty good game for the club. They were about five feet from making this a whole different ball game if Mccutcheon, and Miller’s home runs don’t hook foul. But what we saw was the rays grind out at bats and come up with some timely hitting, and a Nelson Cruz rocket to the outfield proved to be the difference. The Rays Bullpen held it down, and the Phils go down 3-1. Some stellar defense from both teams kept the ballgame very low scoring, and the Phillies had an amazing double play to hold the Rays at 1-1 in the middle innings. With Wheeler going to the mound tomorrow the Phillies have got to like their chances. I am not one of those people though, I see the Rays finding a way to get to Wheeler in the middle innings, and the Phils having a rough go of it down the stretch in a Rays victory. The Phillies will need to get some runs on the board if they want to win this game.

The pick: Rays ML (Odds unreleased) play up to -110
