These two teams have been on entirely different trajectories as of late, the Rays have stormed into the AL east lead, and don’t seem to be looking back. The Phillies surged out to the NL east lead a few weeks ago then ran into the Cincinnati Reds who took 2 out of 3 then shockingly got swept by the lowly D-Backs. They somewhat got back on track with the Padres series, but I would argue that is more about the Padres issues than the Phillies changing their tune. The Phillies should be happy they are only seeing the Rays twice and they will have Wheeler on the mound for Game 2. We might even see the rays as an under dog in game 2 but for sure we are backing the Rays in Game 1. I don’t expect this to be close at all, it will be a rough night to be a Phillies fan tonight.
